Snowmaking Improvements Top Priority at Shawnee Mountain
Shawnee on Delaware, PA – Family and beginner friendly Shawnee Mountain is pleased to announce improvements over the summer season to enhance its ski and snowboarding facilities for winter snow sports.
It all starts with dependable snow conditions throughout each winter season. And as part of a multi-year, multi-million dollar snowmaking upgrade project, for the 2016-17 ski season over 3000 feet of new snowmaking pipe has been installed on the Tecumseh and Lookout trails and new portable, high tech, big throw energy efficient electric fan guns have been added for the Tomahawk trail and base area.
New Rental Equipment
Adding to an already impressive ski and rental facility, for 2016-17 Shawnee Mountain has purchased 100 pair of new Elan skis, 150 pair of new Dalbello ski boots, 50 new Flow snowboards and 100 pair of new Flow snowboard boots. The Shawnee Mountain Rental Shop one of the largest in the USA is able to outfit over 4000 skiers/riders.
New Timing Equipment
The Shawnee Mountain Ski and Snowboard School has purchased new ALGE wireless electronic timing equipment for its popular NASTAR recreational ski racing program and for its youth development racing school. The Development program and NASTAR racing are offered Saturdays and Sundays during January and February each ski season.
