DECEMBER 2016

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING CLINIC
Saturday & Sunday, December 3 & 4

A four day on-the-snow training session for our ski and snowboard instructors.
Instructors please arrive no later than 8:30 am and bring your equipment. ITC will take place in the Trepp Lodge.

JANUARY 2017

LEARN TO SKI & SNOWBOARD MONTH
Friday, January 6 through Sunday, January 31

If you are a first timer, we have some great deals for you to learn to ski or snowboard this winter. Here at Shawnee Mountain, we believe in family time and winter fun. Get started on a lifetime of winter fun by learning to ski or snowboard because humans were never meant to Hibernate. Come hit the slopes with us this winter.

“LEARN A SNOW SPORT” DAY 
Friday, January 6 - 1:00 pm

Join us for Learn a Snow Sport Day at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area. Shawnee Mountain will offer 100 introductory Learn to Ski or Snowboard Packages (beginner lift ticket, lesson and rental equipment) at a cost of $25 each. Reservations are required and limited to the first 100 guests.

Call 570-421-7231 ext 210 to reserve your lesson. Payment is required at the time of reservation.

All proceeds will be donated to the Bushkill Outreach. The Bushkill Outreach is a Pennsylvania state registered food pantry serving people in need in Middle Smithfield and Lehman Townships.

Note: The 1:00 pm lesson time will be part of the Guiness World Record attempt for world's largest lesson.

WEEKEND SKI & SNOWBOARD TRAINING PROGRAMS BEGIN

NASTAR RACE SERIES BEGINS 
Saturday & Sunday, January 7 & 8
Offered weekends throughout the season. NASTAR is the largest public grassroots ski race program in the world. This national recreational race series gives every day skiers and snowboarders of all ages the thrill of racing. WORLD SNOWBOARD DAY 
Sunday, January 22

CANCER AWARENESS WEEKEND – PAINT THE MOUNTAIN PINK
Saturday, February 4

Join us for the 4th Annual Paint the Mountain Pink breast cancer awareness event. All are welcome to help “Paint the Mountain Pink” for breast cancer awareness by wearing pink and participating in fun activities throughout the day.

The first 100 lift ticket purchasers will receive a free pink hat, compliments of Shawnee Mountain. Weather permitting, “Margaret” the Pink Fire Truck will be on display in the base area. In conjunction with Pocono Health Systems, the Hope for Strength Breast Cancer Fund is running a raffle. Prize winners will be drawn at 5:00 pm on Saturday.

CANCER AWARENESS WEEKEND – JOE RIESLE MEMORIAL NASTAR RACE
Sunday, February 5

Join the Race Against Cancer in the Joe Riesle Memorial NASTAR Race on Sunday. Skier and snowboarders of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the race.

Using the NASTAR format, the intermediate-level course is set on the Upper Tomahawk Trail. All race proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

SUPER SCOUT SUNDAY - New Event! 
Sunday, February 5
1st Annual Super Scout Sunday offering in-season snow conditions at discounted scout pricing. Lift ticket, equipment, “Learn To” ski/snowboard packages, meal discount and commemorative patches available to all scouts and their immediate families. No minimum ticket purchase required. SHAWNEE WINTER CARNIVAL
Sunday, February 26
Sponsored by Shawnee Mountain and Coca-Cola, this event will include fun activities and is open to all. Demonstrations, ice sculptor, vendors, product sampling, giveaways, outdoor BBQ, entertainment and après ski party are scheduled.

POCONO SCOUT WEEKEND

The 27th Annual Pocono Scout Weekend offers discount lift tickets, rentals and lessons for all scouts. Special lodging packages are available. MILITARY APPRECIATION WEEKEND -
Friday through Sunday, March 17 thru 19

In an effort to honor the brave men and women defending our freedom and our great Nation, Shawnee Mountain is pleased to announce Military Appreciation Weekend Friday, Saturday & Sunday, March 17, 18 & 19, 2017.  

As a special "Thank You" all active Military and their immediate family (spouse & children 18 years and under) will receive FREE Lift Tickets and Ski or Snowboard Rentals for any or all of the 3 days. Also, Group Lessons and SKIwee Children's Lesson Programs will be made available at a 50% Discount. Valid active military picture ID is required and valid dependent cards are required.

All branches of our Armed Forces are eligible, including Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard & National Guard active duty members. 

For all Retired Military and Reservists and their immediate family a discount of 50% off Lift Tickets will be offered during the Military Appreciation Weekend. Again valid active military picture ID is required and valid dependent cards are required.

All Military and their immediate family are welcome to enjoy any 2-Hours of Snow Tubing for only $17 per session all weekend (with ID). 

And as a special bonus, those attending Military Appreciation Weekend are welcome to enjoy the Costume Carnival Day and Parade taking place at Shawnee Mountain on Sunday, March 19 at 1:00 pm.

ANNUAL COSTUME CARNIVAL DAY  
Sunday, March 19
The 33rd Annual Costume Carnival Day is open to all. Those in full costume will receive a FREE same day lift ticket. A costume parade and judging will be held at 1:00 pm with great prizes in several categories.
