2009 Summer & Fall Festival Lineup

As temperatures rise and the snow melts, we’re gearing up for the summer & fall season. This year we’ve expanded our festival line-up; in addition to four of your favorites we are excited to announce another multi-day festival, the Poconos’ Wurst Festival! Read the full schedule and details below.

Shawnee Celtic Festival

June 27 & 28, 2009

Saturday and Sunday 11am to 6pm

Produced in cooperation with East of the Hebrides Entertainment, the Shawnee Celtic Festival brings the sights and sounds of the Emerald Isles and the Scottish Highlands to the Poconos for two full days! Non-stop Celtic music, a bagpipers parade and fiddlers jam, Irish and Scottish dancers, working sheep dogs, a variety of Celtic food and craft vendors and much more! More >

 

Shawnee Annual Fireworks Display

July 4, 2009

Saturday gates open at 7pm, show starts approximately at 9pm

Shawnee Mountain Ski Area is holding its annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks, which benefits the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company. There will be an outdoor DJ, Uncle Sam Stilt Walker, Mark Clark’s “All American Magic Show” and various food & craft vendors. A delicious Hickory Licks barbecue is planned. “The Best Show in the Poconos’,” a full one half hour fireworks display will be at dusk presented by the Castiglione Fireworks Display Company. More >

Poconos' Wurst Festival & 5k Trail Run

July 18 & 19, 2009 - New! for Summer 2009

Saturday: Noon to 7pm, Sunday: Noon to 6pm

If brews, brats, crafts, dancing and lively music is your thing - don't miss this one. Featuring the eighteen-time Grammy Award winning Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra on Saturday and the 14 piece Shippensburg German Band on Sunday. German OOM PA PA Bands, Polish Polka Bands, German & Polish crafts and dancers plus all of the wursts, wieners, kielbasa, pierogies, ethnic vendors and crafted brews all weekend long. Pocono Garlic Festival

September 5 & 6, 2009

Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm

The aroma of garlic will fill the Shawnee Valley over Labor Day weekend for the 15th Annual Pocono Garlic Festival! Indulge all of your garlic fantasies at this legendary event featuring flavorful foods liberally laced with Pocono-grown garlic and a fantastic variety of entertainment. Rodeo & Chili Cook-Off

September 26 & 27, 2009

Saturday and Sunday: Gates open 11:30am, Rodeo at 2pm

Come and experience the thrill of the Pro Cowboys competing in events fully approved and sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association including bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping and much more! Our Chili Cook-Off will kick off the event with live country music and line dancing to follow. Its two days of action-packed, real live Rodeo! More >

 

Timber & Balloon Festival

October 16-18, 2009

Friday Evening: 4pm to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday: 7am to 6pm
