Runners can pick-up their race packets on Friday, August 15 between 3:00pm and 6:00pm at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area.
When to arrive...
Rise and shine sleepy head. We recommend arriving 60-90 minutes before your heat start time. Give yourself enough time to park, check in, pin on your race bib, take advantage of pre-mud photo ops and stretch. For the early risers, registration begins at 8:00 am on race day. Registration will end at 10:30am on race day.
What to bring...

- Bag to store your muddy clothes after the run
- Towel and change of clothes - an area to rinse off and change is available

What to leave at home...
Rings & jewelry - mud tends to take your valuables captive.
Pets are not permitted on the race grounds.
No outside food, beverages or alcohol.
So you arrived... Now what?
- Head to the friendly folks at “Registration” and pick up your mud run packet. Your mud run packet will include your race bib, cool mud run tech shirt, BBQ ticket and raffle ticket.
- Next you will head to the runner's tent where you can leave bags with extra clothing for after the race. Please limit to one bag per person. Please do not leave valuables in your bags.
Feel free to explore the run sponsors and vendor tents in the base area.
- Shawnee Mountain is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Say, "Muddy Cheese!"...
Keep your eye out for the paparazzi. Yup, professional photographers will be on hand to capture you in all your mud-caked glory. Make sure your bibs are securely fastened on the front of your shirt. Our photographers will tag your bib number in the photos to make it easier to find your muddy mugshots after the run. All photos will be available the week following the event.
After the run...
Hit the showers. An area to rinse off and change will be available in the base area. Follow the signs to the designated changing areas. Once you are all cleaned up head to the main tent for the raffle and awards.
Everyone has a few pairs of shoes collecting dust at home. It's time to dig them out and put them to good use. We will have collection bins for Soles4Souls located in the courtyard. Shawnee Mountain will wash, pack and ship the donated shoes to Soles4Souls.
Founded in 2006, Soles4Souls is a global not-for-profit institution dedicated to fighting the devastating impact and perpetuation of poverty through the distribution of shoes and clothing.
We are proud to announce that the Pocono Chapter of Girls on the Run and Soles4Souls will be our 2013 race beneficiaries.
Did you know you are making a difference just by running in the Shawnee Mountain Mud Run? Each registration will help by making a very real difference to the health and strength of our community. Your registration will help make this program accessible to all girls in Monroe, Northampton and Pike Counties. Girls on the Run does not turn away anyone for inability to pay. In 2012, generous donations allowed us to provide financial aid to many of our families.

WHERE DO WE PARK?
There is plenty of free parking available at Shawnee Mountain.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Bring your signed waiver, Photo ID, a change of clothes, shoes and a towel.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
The average temperature in August is low to mid 80s, so we suggest wearing something light. You also might want to use bug/tick spray before the run. Remember, you’re going to get pretty muddy; don’t wear your favorite T-shirt, shorts, etc.
WHAT ABOUT MY CAR KEYS?
There are lockers available in the base lodge and the changing areas. Please leave jewelry and other valuables at home. We are not responsible for lost or stolen valuables.
CAN I SEE THE COURSE PRIOR TO THE EVENT?
Visit our Mud Run page for a course map and description of the course. It’s ready to view now! Minor adjustments to the course may be made prior to the event.
IS THERE A CHANGING AREA?
Yes, there will be a hosing off area at the finish line and separate changing areas for men and women.
ARE THE TEAMS TIMED?
Yes, there will be an official timer at the finish line.
DO THE TEAMS HAVE TO STAY TOGETHER?
Teams are required to complete obstacles together and all members MUST cross the finish line together to be eligible for prizes.
DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM TO COMPETE?
All water crossings are shallow and you are not required to know how to swim to get through them.
WILL THERE BE MILE MARKERS ON THE COURSE?
Yes! Each mile will be marked and we will have marshals to help you along the way.
WILL THERE BE MEDICAL SUPPORT ON SITE?
Medical support WILL be on site and around the course.
WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE PERSON ON MY TEAM OF 4 CANNOT MAKE IT THE DAY OF THE RUN?
You can still participate with 3 members, but you will not be eligible for prizes.
WHAT IF I CAN’T COMPLETE AN OBSTACLE?
Make 3 attempts and then go around, however you will not be eligible for prizes if you fail to complete an obstacle.
SHOULD I BRING MY OWN WATER?
There will be 3 water stations available on the course; carry your own water if you wish.
ARE WE ALLOWED TO BRING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR FOOD?
No outside food or alcoholic beverages are permitted on the grounds. There will be alcoholic beverages and food for sale after the run.
CAN I BRING MY PET?
Sorry, NO pets are allowed. Please leave them at home where they will be more comfortable.
CAN I BRING MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS TO WATCH?
Friends and family are welcome; in fact, we encourage this idea! Spectators will be restricted to certain areas though and will not be allowed on the mountain or on the mud run course. Check out the map for spectator areas.
