Shoe donations...
Everyone has a few pairs of shoes collecting dust at home. It's time to dig them out and put them to good use. We will have collection bins for Soles4Souls located in the courtyard. Shawnee Mountain will wash, pack and ship the donated shoes to Soles4Souls.

HOW TO PREP FOR A MUD RUN

So your friends signed you up for a mud run... now what? Don't worry, the good news is that you'll only be sore for a couple days.

Training:
Luckily no special equipment or training is required. All you need is a good attitude and be ready to have fun and get dirty. Below are a few tips...

- Build up your strength by skipping the elevator/escalator and taking the stairs.
- Take a few trips to the car instead of being the grocery bag hero.
- Take a walk. Skip the couch after dinner and take walk/jog around the neighborhood.

Wear:
- Don't wear your favorite running shoes. You will have a chance to donate your running shoes afterwards. Don't worry, we will wash them, pack them and ship them to Soles4Souls.

- August can get pretty hot. We suggest shorts and a shirt that are light and do not hold water (and mud).

- Costumes! Yes, we will take your picture wearing it.

- Do not wear your wedding rings and jewelry. Mud tends to take them hostage.

Pack:

- Bring a plastic bag for your muddy clothes.

- Clean shoes and clothes. Will have an area to rinse off and change.

- Remember your ID and waiver.

Leave at home:

- Leave all jewelry, especially your wedding rings at home.

- iPods, MP3 players

- Your pets. Pets are not permitted in the race area or festival grounds.
