Shawnee on Delaware, PA – Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi! The area’s first Oktoberfest in July will be taking place at Shawnee Mountain on July 14 & 15, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A true celebration of the German culture, Oktoberfest in July will feature authentic German food and beer, including Krombacher and Kellerbier. Vendors will be serving wursts, strudel, potato pancakes, kiffles and more!
The event will feature three stages of music. The Austrian Boys, a traditional Austrian-German style & Alpine-American rock band, will perform on the main stage both days. G.T.V. Almrausch, a dance group from Philadelphia, will also be performing traditional German-style dance under the main festival tent both days. Joe Stanky & the Cadets will perform all the polka hits inside the Ski Lodge & Biergarten. Local favorite, the Apple Strudel Gang, will perform in the Brauhaus Bar.
Oktoberfest in July will also feature the Bier Stein Olympics. Guests will compete in three events: Stein Hoisting, Bier Stein Relay and the Beer Belly Contest. There will also be pig and wiener dog races, juggling & magic shows, face painting, craft vendors and more!
The festival will be held rain or shine. Advanced Festival Admission Tickets, Adults $9 and Children ages 5 – 12 $7.50, ages 4 and under FREE, are now on sale. Plenty of FREE onsite parking is provided. For more information, visit www.shawneemt.com.
