Shawnee Mountain's “Learn a Snow Sport Day” Raises $2,784 for Bushkill Outreach Food Bank

Shawnee-on-Delaware, PA – On Friday, January 5, despite a strong north wind and temperatures in the single digits, 96 guests took advantage of Shawnee Mountain’s “Learn a Snow Sport Day” and learned to ski or snowboard. This is an annual event for Shawnee Mountain that kicks off the January National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month. This event also serves as an important fundraiser for the Bushkill Outreach, a local food bank serving the Eastern Pocono Mountains area. For the “Learn a Snow Sport Day,” Shawnee Mountain provided up to 100 complete beginners packages, including a daily lift ticket, rental equipment and a group lesson, at a bargain price of $29 per package. Shawnee Mountain then donated all the proceeds from the special packages to Bushkill Outreach.

For the remainder of January, excluding January 13 & 14, Shawnee Mountain will be offering a discount Learn to Ski or Snowboard Package for just $79, regular price is $105. This package is available online only at and includes an all-area lift ticket, equipment rental and a first-time group lesson.

Operating day and night, Shawnee Mountain is well-known as being a beginner and family friendly ski area, welcoming all levels of skiers and snowboarders.
