What’s New: Grooming and Snowmaking Improvements

Shawnee-on-Delaware, PA – Shawnee Mountain is pleased to announce many improvements that will enhance its ski and snowboarding facilities for the 2018-2019 winter season.

Grooming Fleet Expands

Adding to its impressive grooming capabilities, Shawnee Mountain has purchased a new Pisten Bully 400 Free Grooming Machine for the upcoming ski season. Shawnee Mountain’s 23 trails, two terrain parks and the Pocono Plunge Snow Tubing Park are groomed nightly throughout the winter season.

Snowmaking Upgrades

The snowmaking system on the Delaware Trail, Country Club Trail and in both Freestyle Terrain Parks is now fully automated with computerized controls. This is part of a multi-year, multi-million-dollar snowmaking upgrade project. Snowmaking covers 100% of all Shawnee’s 125 acres of skiable terrain.

New Rental Equipment

Shawnee Mountain has purchased 500 pairs of Elan skis, 150 pairs of Dalbello ski boots, 100 Rossignol snowboards, 175 pairs of Burton snowboard boots and 220 adjustable helmets. The Shawnee Mountain Rental Shop, one of the largest rental shops in the United States, is able to outfit over 4000 skiers/riders.

New Charging Stations

Shawnee skiers and guests will be able to charge their cell phones and tablets inside both the Hope and Trepp Lodges. Several complimentary charging stations have been conveniently placed in both seating levels.
