About the Wounded Warrior Project
The Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) isa nonprofit organization that assists Warriors in their transition to civilian life following their service. Wounded Warrior Project was founded in 2003 by John Melia, who had been severely wounded in a helicopter crash while serving in Somalia in 1992. Melia assembled backpacks full of comfort items and distributed them to injured veterans. From there the WWP was formed and along with the backpack program, WWP now provides more than 20 valuable programs and services to injured service members and their families.
"Every warrior has a next mission. We know that the transition to civilian life is a journey. And for every warrior, family member, and caregiver, that journey looks different. We are here for their first step, and each step that follows. Because we believe that every warrior should have a positive future to look forward to. There’s always another goal to achieve, another mission to discover. We are their partner in that mission."
Your donation will support life-changing programs that empower, employ, and engage America’s injured veterans. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, warriors and their families will never pay a penny for these services.
